Baotou Medical College was established in 1958, Located in Baotou City, inner Mongolia province of China. As a general undergraduate medical college established earlier in New China in ethnic minority areas, Baotou Medical College recruited five-year undergraduate students majoring in clinical medicine in the year of its establishment. In June 2003, the Ministry of Education China decided to merge Baotou Medical College with Baotou Iron and Steel College and Baotou Teachers College to form Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST).
