Harbin Medical University was founded in 1926 in Harbin, the ice city in the north. Harbin Medical University is a pioneer of modern medicine in China. In 1997, Harbin Medical University was approved by the Ministry of Education to become one of the first 30 universities to recruit undergraduate Clinical Medicine (English-taught) international students.

Harbin Medical University aims to become a teaching- and research-oriented medical school that is first-grade in China and well-known in the world. It is the only higher medical school in Heilongjiang Province that can recruit foreign students for the Medicine Program (MBBS) in English Medium.

Hostel Facilities:

The Harbin Medical University hostel accommodations are centrally heated, furnished, and well-equipped. The rooms are located on campus and are designed for two people. Harbin Medical University is ensuring a secure environment for students, particularly female students. CCTV cameras are installed to monitor the activities of students in the hostel facility and on campus.

Admission Requirements:

International students interested in applying to Harbin Medical University for the bachelor’s degree of Clinical Medicine (MBBS) must meet the following entry requirements.

  • IELTS with a minimum overall score of 6.0 or TOEFL with a score of 70 or above.
  • The CSCA Exam is mandatory to get admission to Harbin Medical University.
  • Applicants must have a valid passport and be non-Chinese citizens.
  • The applicant must have a minimum of 70% marks in their senior high school/HSSC/WAEC/or A-levels.
  • The age requirement for the Medicine (MBBS) program is 18-21 years (for boys) and 18-22 (for girls).
  • The student must provide a financial guarantee or bank statement with a minimum account balance of $5000.

Admission Criteria:

  • Harbin Medical University will conduct an online interview with the Students.
  • Foreign students with a GPA>3.3; B or above in all subjects, or 80% in all subjects, are exempt from the written entrance test (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), while those below 80% in Senior High School must take it.
