Hubei Minzu University was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1998. The University is a result of the merger of the former Hubei Institute for Nationalities and the former Enshi Medical Institute. It is located in Enshi City of Hubei Province. It covers an area of more than 1,600 acres, a collection of more than 2.48 million books, and more than 3.3 million electronic books.
International Accreditation:
Hubei Minzu University is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), WDOMS, PM&DC, ECFMG, WFME, and WCAME. Foreign Students after getting a Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Degree from Hubei Minzu University are eligible to apply for USMLE, UKMLA/PLAB, GMC, AMC, and almost all the medical licensing certifications abroad. Students from Pakistan are eligible to appear in PMDC’s Licensing Examination (NRE) to practice MBBS in Pakistan.
Clinical Medicine Program:
Hubei Minzu University provides a six-year Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program that includes the first year of Chinese language instruction. Upon passing the Chinese Language Proficiency (HSK-4) exam in the first year, students will be advanced to the five-year Clinical Medicine program. The graduation prerequisite is the HSK-5.
Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Cost:
The Cost of Medicine (MBBS) Program at Hubei Minzu University is 20,100 RMB/year ($2,900), which includes the tuition and accommodation fee (two students sharing a room). The Cost of MBBS at Hubei Minzu University for Pakistani students is approximately 8.20 Lakh PKR Per year. This cost does not include the food or traveling expenses.
Faculty and Students:
Hubei Minzu University recruits students from 24 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country and currently has more than 20,000 full-time students. The school has a well-structured and well-qualified faculty. The school currently has 1,209 full-time teachers, 441 of whom have doctoral degrees, including 131 professors.
International Students:
Hubei Minzu University started enrollment of international students in 2013 and enrolled foreign students from Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, and Liberia. More than 200 foreign students have received their medical degrees, and they are practicing medicine all over the world.

The Hubei Minzu University currently has 19 colleges (departments), including the School of Medicine. In 2023, there will be 50 undergraduate majors, covering 10 major disciplines: Economics, Law, Education, Literature, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Management, and the arts.

Hubei Minzu University has one directly affiliated Class-A tertiary general hospital (Affiliated Minzu University Hospital), one non-directly affiliated Class-A tertiary general hospital (Enshi Prefecture Central Hospital), and one non-directly affiliated Class-A tertiary traditional Chinese medicine hospital (Enshi Prefecture Ethnic Hospital).
Facilities:
Hubei Minzu University offers a comprehensive range of amenities for overseas students. The school provides a dormitory for international students that is located on campus and is very secure. The institution offers various amenities, including a Muslim cafeteria, ATMs, a hospital, a supermarket, and study areas. All over the campus, CCTV cameras are deployed. Students are prohibited from residing off-campus.
Admission Requirements:
International students applying for the Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program must have a minimum of 60% marks in HSSC/Senior High School (Grade 12)/WAEC/A-Levels. The age limit to apply is 16-25.
