The China Socialistic Competency Assessment (CSCA) is a standardized test designed for international students planning to pursue undergraduate degrees (Clinical Medicine, Engineering, Arts, or Science) in China. The CSCA is organized by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and jointly developed with experts from Chinese universities.

Why CSCA is Important?
The CSCA is a standardized examination designed to assess academic ability, specifically in Professional Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, allowing universities to evaluate applicants on a uniform basis. CSCA scores are also one of the important criteria that Chinese universities consider in undergraduate admissions and scholarship evaluations.
Join Foundation Programs:
From 2026 on, International Students applying for a Bachelor’s degree in either the English or Chinese medium must pass the CSCA examination before entering the Degree program. CSCA will be held five times a year.
Foreign students interested in applying to Clinical Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS), Pharmacy, Nursing, or Arts and Sciences in China must take the CSCA Examination. CSCA Exam Fee 2026-2027:
The Cost of the CSCA Exam in China ranges from 450 RMB to 700 RMB, depending on the subjects you select for admission to apply to your desired university. The cost for one subject is 450 RMB ($64), while choosing two or more subjects increases the cost to 700 RMB ($100).
The applicant will bear the cost of the CSCA Exam on their own. Students can pay the CSCA Examination fee by WeChat, AliPay, UnionPay, Visa, or Mastercard.

CSCA Exam Subjects:
The CSCA Exam comprises two categories of subjects: Professional Chinese and Basic Subjects. Professional Chinese Subjects are related to Arts and Science, while Basic Subjects cover Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Physics, chemistry, and mathematics exams can be conducted in either Chinese or English, depending on your choice.
In the CSCA Exam, every subject has 100 marks, and the university will determine the passing score criteria based on the requirements of the clinical medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or nursing programs.

How to Choose Subjects for CSCA Exam?
CSCA Exam is only for students interested in applying for the Bachelor’s degree programs. First of all, ask the University to which you are going to apply for the Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS), Pharmacy, or Nursing programs.
If you have chosen the Foundation or Chinese language preparatory program and you want to choose a bachelor’s degree after the completion of the Foundation program, that will be the wise choice for you.
CSCA Exam Requirements?
The CSCA Exam is only for students interested in applying for the Bachelor’s degree programs. So if the Student is qualified to apply for the Bachelor’s degree program and has sufficient scores in Senior High School/WAEC/A-Levels, they can apply for the CSCA Exam.
CSCA is the Exam only to check the competency of students, and every university sets different subject combinations (e.g., Physics/Math, Chemistry/Math, or Chemistry/Math).

The CSCA Exam is mandatory for all nations worldwide, including Students from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Africa, and Arab countries.
