Yangtze University is a public university in China, founded in 2003. It is located in Jingzhou, a prefecture-level city in southern Hubei, People’s Republic of China, on the banks of the Yangtze River. The university is authorized to grant doctoral degrees and offers a complete range of talent training levels.

The Yangtze University has campuses in both Jingzhou and Wuhan, boasting beautiful and scenic environments. It has been recognized as a garden-style university in Hubei Province. The school campus covers an area of ​​5,118 mu (approximately 348 hectares), with a building area of ​​1.152 million square meters.

The Yangtze University has a gymnasium, a comprehensive training hall, a swimming pool, and fields for football and tennis, providing comprehensive sports facilities. Yangtze University’s Undergraduate programs cover 11 major disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, Medicine, management, and art.

The Yangtze University currently has 3,055 faculty and staff members, including 1,928 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 364 professors and 819 associate professors; 1,158 teachers hold doctoral degrees.

Currently, there are 35,388 full-time undergraduates, 7,127 full-time doctoral and master’s students, and over 1,200 students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, overseas Chinese communities, and international students.

Global Accreditations:

Yangtze University is accredited by the WHO (World Health Organization), PM&DC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council), WDOMS, WFME, and ECFMG. Foreign graduates who have finished their medical or dental education and possess a Clinical Medicine (MBBS) degree are eligible to apply for the USMLE, PLAB, GMC, AMC, SMLE, and DHA.

MBBS Degree Duration:

Yangtze University is offering the Six-Year Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program in a Bilingual Medium, which comprises the first year of Chinese language and five years of the Medicine program, which includes the last year of Internship. Upon successful completion of the program, Yangtze University will confer a degree in clinical medicine.

HSK Exam Policy:

International students pursuing a clinical medicine degree (MBBS) at Yangtze University must pass HSK-4 in their first year and HSK-5 before graduation. 

Clinical Medicine Cost 2026-2027:

Yangtze University is offering a Low-cost medicine program (MBBS) for international students. The annual Cost of the Medicine Program at Yangtze University is 22,400 RMB ($3150), including both tuition and accommodation. This price does not include airfares or food expenses.

International Students:

Yangtze University is hosting foreign Medical students from more than 20 countries. Foreign students are studying Medicine, Chinese language, and Civil Engineering. Currently, the majority of foreign students are from Hong Kong, Macau, Lesotho, Botswana, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Yemen, Zambia, Algeria, and Tanzania, as well as other African and Arab countries.

Admission Requirements:

International students interested in studying Medicine at Yangtze University must meet the following admission requirements.

  • Applicants must have a valid passport and be non-Chinese citizens.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 70% marks in their Senior High School/HSSC/WAEC/or A-Levels.
  • The age requirement for the Medicine program is 18-25 years.
  • Yangtze University does not require an entrance examination.
  • The student must provide a financial guarantee or bank statement with a minimum account balance of $5000.

Yangtze University MBBS Fee Structure for International Students 2026:

Yangtze University has been offering the Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program for international students since 2015. The MBBS Fee for Pakistani students is 22,400 RMB (Approx. 940,000 PKR) per year, which includes the tuition and hostel fees. This Cost does not include the food expenses, which are approximately 1000 RMB per month.
